Who Are We?

Updated: Feb 14, 2022

As we press in to 2022, we thought it might be useful to remind you, or let you know for the first time, who we are, what we do and why we do it. Below is a video of a healing testimony from a year ago that will bless your socks off, and written here is a testimony of another healing that happened just this last Sunday in one of Home Churches.

But first, we wanted to share with you a little about who we are.

Our vision at Upstream is to provide resources filled with revelation and inspiration for the nations and for generations. We believe relationship with Jesus leads us to relationship with people, and that's where discipleship starts. Our goal is for home church leaders around the world to have free access to great teaching, worship, inspiration and much more, empowering them to be able to do what they do best, wherever they are.

We believe in the Power, Identity and Love that comes from true discipleship in small fellowships that grow real relationship. We believe in the church model that Jesus gave us and the early church pioneered. Meeting from home to home and breaking bread were major parts of the early church and we encourage all our home churches to do the same.

Discipleship is our biggest goal. Seeing people grow in the relationship with Jesus, in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and their knowledge and revelation of the Word of God is, we believe, best achieved in small groups. One of the fruits of true discipleship is seeing the power of God flowing in your life!

As Lyrice writes;

Over a year ago my right hand and wrist swelled to twice their normal size. There was no apparent reason except that I was ‘using it too much’ taking notes for my Charis courses and gardening. Students at Charis’ healing school in Chicago agreed and interceded with me until the pain stopped and over the course of several months the swelling subsided. However, during the year the pain and swelling would come and go. Because of the pain, I had x-rays and an MRI, but to no avail so I knew that it was just the enemy attempting to steal my health. Recently, in November, I felt the pain travel up my arm up to my shoulder and I called my son to be in agreement with me that it would not go up my neck and head. All of a sudden one Friday evening I could not use my arm. The pain kept me awake Friday night, and all day Saturday I prayed, praised and learned some creative tricks to getting dressed with 1 hand! A friend drove me to our amazing family Home Church on Sunday where the prayer, intercession and fight for my total healing began. Several members prayed and I felt relief however was not able to comfortably raise my arm. That did not satisfy these Kingdom dwellers.

Praise God indeed! This is one of many testimonies of God's goodness and the power of true discipleship and fellowship that we've heard throughout the Upstream Home Church network.

If church the way Jesus modelled it, true discipleship, real relationship and powerful encounters with the Holy Spirit sound good to you, why not check out our website for more details on how you could get involved with Upstream Home Church.

We encourage you to watch the video testimony below. It'll really bless you!

Many blessings,

Upstream
