In our current series, Restoring Foundations, we are discovering the biblical truth about 5 fundamental realities that affect every aspect of our lives. This week, we are continuing to look at Reality #3, God Designed Gender, Sex, Marriage and Family.
You and I, we are social beings. We were not made to be alone, but we were made to be in relationship, both horizontally with others and vertically with our Creator. God created the family as the structure for our most important relationships. Did you know the family structure echoes His heavenly relationships—Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
'For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,' Ephesians 3:14-15 KJV Marriage and family with children are sacred and holy, designed by God for His purposes. The idea of children and increase was embedded into humanity by God from the very beginning. The marriage union produces life and our union with Christ produces life. Our earthly marriage is a picture of Jesus and the Church, His Bride.
